PWA organized a workshop to discuss the outcomes of the study of the complex interaction between water, energy, and food in the Gaza Strip, which was carried out as part of the activities of the Project Coordination Unit with support from Austrian Development Agency.
The eight-month study aimed to develop integrated multisectoral water, energy, and agriculture linkage strategy, in addition, to unify common interests in the current sector crisis, water scarcity, and natural resources, and chronic energy deficits.
The study includes an assessment of opportunities in the three sectors and the development of an action plan, and the development of an implementable monitoring and evaluation plan to ensure a monitoring program for proposed interventions in this regard. In addition to an action plan to implement the strategy in cooperation with the relevant authorities, primarily the Ministry of Agriculture and the Energy Quality Authority.
The workshop was attended by representatives of official, local and international institutions, in addition to experts, consultants, and interested persons.
