Ramallah: Head of Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghoneim, met in his office today, the General Consul of the Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Palestine, Mr. Khaled Sami, who completed his work in Palestine, and the new General Consul of Palestine, Advisor Mustafa Al-Shahat.

At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Ghonaim welcomed the General Consul Al-Shahat, wishing him success in his new diplomatic missions in Palestine, stressing the historical relationship between the two countries and the two fraternal peoples and continued cooperation in various issues.

He also praised the efforts of Consul Sami, and his continuous follow-up to the various issues in addition to his active and permanent role in the water file, which contributed to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister briefed the Consuls on the developments in the Palestinian water sector, in particular, the achievements of the water authority in Gaza Strip and West Bank despite the great challenges, notably the Central desalination plant project, noting that the completion of these projects will contribute to saving the Gaza Strip from the disaster and reduce pollution and depletion of coastal basin.

For his part, Advisor Sami expressed his happiness for his presence in Palestine during the past period and his pride in the fruitful efforts exerted by the Water Authority headed by Eng. Mazen Ghoneim, during which he was able to move the water sector to an advanced stage, indicating the efforts to improve the water situation in Palestine, wishing to witness the coming days more achievements will be reflected positively on the Palestinian people..
