Head of the Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghoneim signed today with Mr.Carlo Baccini, the international consultant for Lottie Company, the agreement for the supervision of the complementary work of the central desalination plant to improve water service to the Gaza Strip, specifically the south, which is funded by the Kuwaiti government within the financial agreement signed and implemented through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, with a financial value of 60 million dollars.

The agreement includes in terms of supervising the implementation of two important projects as part of the complementary projects of the Central Desalination Plant, namely the Establishment of the southern carrier in its entirety, which includes the establishment of water tanks and stations in addition to the central pumping station the project will serve the governorates of Rafah and Khan Younis, with a population of 600,000.

The other project is Implement additional water link development work in the South that will be supplied through the Bahrain water channel project, where 10 million cubic meters were allocated to the Gaza Strip, including 5 million to supply the provinces of Khan Younis and the Central.

In this context, Minister Ghoneim confirmed that the implementation of these projects is the real start to implementing the components of the program of the central desalination plant after completion of the donor conference last March in which we were able to secure 565 million dollar , today we talk about the work on the ground ,not about figures, concluding  that the planning and implementation of these actions come within the Palestinian Government policy to provide services to all citizens in various locations.
