Eng. Mazen Ghoneim-head of the Water Authority, , met at his office today with Bern Donslav -Director of German Cooperation and Catherine Lawrence Deputy Director for German Development, , to discuss the launch of the Gender Assessment Program, which is part of the German program for 2017 for the water sector.
The assessment process aims to study the challenges facing the issue of gender in the water sector and to set the necessary criteria for developing them at the institutional level through working Techniques and means that to come up with a comprehensive and applicable strategy.
Minister Ghoneim admired the completion of work on the strategic plan and the evaluation of the steps and procedures that have been implemented to make a clear change in this field and work to change the society's opinion about the gender concept and the role of different Categories, he also confirmed the readiness of the Water Authority and its staff to provide all necessary requirements in order to accomplish the strategic plan according to the schedule plan.
It is worth mentioning that the evaluation process will start this month and end by the end of this year. The working team includes three German specialists in gender assessment and the consulting company.
