Water Authority organizes a training program on modern technologies in the water sector

 Ramallah: The Water Authority, in collaboration with the Dutch project Blue Deal & Waterworks, held a training program on Water Governance and Modern water and wastewater Techniques, through the Netherlands Academy NUFIC. The program aims to build the capacity of the participants and to qualify trainers capable of transferring their expertise to develop the work in the water sector.

The workshop addressed the role of the Water Authority in developing and reforming the water sector and the encroachments facing the sector. It also clarified the vision of the Water Authority and the strategies under implementation.

The workshop also touched on the Water Sector Reform Program and the Water Law in Palestine. As the Water Authority plays a major role in supporting local councils in joining the water utilities that the Water Authority is working to establish, by merging service providers into regional water utilities, where this process leads to reducing costs and improving the service quality.

The program highlighted the construction obstacles of water utilities in Palestine and ways to overcome them by working within the Water Authority methodology.

The training included more than 20 trainees from the Water Authority, the Joint Services Council (north of Hebron), and the municipality of Salfit. This meeting will be followed by a series of training workshops in Palestine and the Netherlands.
