Ramallah - Head of Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, signed an agreement with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Jenin municipality, to purchase and supply additional equipment within the project to improve water services management for Jenin municipality, in response to the implementation of the emergency plan since the beginning of Corona pandemic.
Eng. Ghunaim indicated that the implementation of this project reflected positively on improving the capabilities of the Jenin municipality in the field of water services management, developing infrastructure for networks and thus reducing losses to ensure better water services for citizens, as Jenin is considered one of the governorates most suffering in the water issue under the occupation’s control on most of its water resources.
In this context, Ghunaim confirmed that the work of developing the institutional work of service providers comes within the water sector reform plan to reach regional water facilities.
