On 1 December 2021, The Head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim met with the Deputy Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Zsuzsanna Jakab in Budapest on the sidelines of the Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and Summit.
During the meeting, the parties discussed important aspects of cooperation in the fields of water and health to provide a safe environment for citizens, particularly in light of the corona pandemic.
Eng. Ghunaim stressed that this pandemic imposed on us, as all countries of the world, to take the necessary measures to protect citizens, with high requirements of health and hygiene which led to intensified efforts of the Water Authority to provide safe water to the citizen and take and generalize preventive measures to deal with sewage, especially in light of the occupation's control of 85% of water sources and the vulnerability of the water and health situation.
The meeting also touched on cooperation to promote work, exchange experiences in the water and health aspects, and provide the necessary support in this field.
