Ramallah: Head of Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghuneim met in his office with the mayor of Beitunya ,Rebhi Dawla, to discuss all issues related to the sanitation problem plaguing the city, as well as discuss the construction of “Ein–Griot “sewage station , which the Water Authority intends to implement and has provided the necessary funding by the German side, However, the Israeli side is an obstacle to its implementation through its procrastination and putting obstacles to prevent the implementation of this project which considers the need to rescue the city's residents from the environmental and health catastrophe they face as a result of the flow of wastewater.
During the meeting, Eng. Ghuneim explained that the Water Authority has sought to implement this station to serve the cities of Ramallah, Al-Bireh and Beitunya.
Head of the Water Authority stressed that, this suspended project caused substantial environmental problems in the region in general, and in Beitunya, in particular, which lack sanitation networks included within the project to establish the station which is clearly reflected on the environmental situation in addition to threatening the lives of citizen.
