Ramallah_ Head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghoneim met at his office today with the representative of the Government of Hungary in Palestine, D. Chapa in Radda , to discuss current and future cooperation between the two countries regarding the water sector and specific pioneering work areas as water resources management, sewage treatment and the issues of climate change, In addition to remote monitoring and control system where the parties stressed the importance of cooperation in these areas and take advantage of experiences for the development of the water sector in Palestine.
In this regard, Ghoneim praised the Hungarian Government's efforts to highlight water issues at the international level and to posing the problems facing the world and challenges to states in this aspect, such as the issue of climate change, and an interest in the issue of water in Palestine.
Eng. Ghoneim stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the parties and the signing of the memorandum of understanding prepared between specialists from both sides after the visit of the group of experts and specialists from Hungary to Palestine and acquainted the Palestinian water experience and field trips to important projects related to sanitation and water management, so that the signing of the memorandum in the first half of this year.
The Minister also invited to Hungary's participation and the institutions and experts in the water sector in the Palestinian International Water Forum which will be held in the end of June this year and which will include panels of international experts by introducing several issues and important experiences in the water sector.
For his part, Mr.Rada expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the Palestinian Government to develop various aspects in Palestine, as well as the water authority's efforts to improve the water sector and developing it and keep up with developments in the area of quality assurance control at work.
