Ramallah: Head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, today, met the Director of the European Union Cooperation in Palestine, Mr. Gerhard Krause, to discuss the ongoing strategic projects and programs funded by the European Union.

The meeting discussed the next steps towards the implementation of strategic projects for the Palestinian water sector, primarily the current developments in preparation for the establishment of the central desalination plant in the Gaza Strip.

From his part, Mr. Gerhard Krause stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation on the implementation stages of the central desalination plant, particularly speeding up the conversion of previous pledges into financial agreements to provide the necessary financial support to meet the needs of citizens.

The two sides agreed to coordinate and cooperate on the next steps and phases of work to accelerate work on these strategic water sector projects to provide additional quantities of water to citizens.
