Ramallah: Head of the Palestinian Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghoneim signed today the agreement on the water and energy connector project with the head of Water and Sanitation Council _Tubas Hassan Majali, and the head of the Joint Services Council for the villages of northwest Jenin, Naif Khamaisa as the project is the first of its kind linking the water and energy sectors and funded by the European Union and the French Development Agency.
The project aims to improve the lives of the people in the region by improving quality services for drinking water and sanitation as well as providing alternatives and options to reach independence in the water and energy sectors as a pillar and Foundation for building the Palestinian State, in addition to improving access to Water supply and sanitation networks.
Eng. Mazen Ghoneim explained that this project contributes to strengthening the role of national institutions and providers in improving operation and management to improve the ability of water service providers to operate and maintain the water supply system.
Minister Ghoneim also praised the role of partners in the European Union and the French Agency for their support of this project, which contributes to solve the energy crisis, renewable energy in Palestine and future energy sources for wastewater treatment and purification plants.
