Ramallah: The head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim signed a memorandum of understanding with Action Against Hunger, represented by its director in the South, Mohamed Amayra, to implement a range of emergency projects in marginalized areas.
The signing of the MOU comes within the framework of the Water Authority's efforts to provide support for emergency and urgent projects to serve remote areas and areas classified as "C", to contribute to meeting the needs of the water sector, and work to develop the level of water services in those areas that suffer from water scarcity and weak infrastructure.
Eng. Ghunaim stressed that the Water Authority seeks to cooperate with various parties supporting the water sector, provide water service, and implement projects that respond to emergencies, especially in areas facing successive attacks by the occupation to empty the land of the residents and control it.
The agreement aims to develop the hydraulic model of water networks in some areas of Hebron Governorate, to find the necessary technical solutions to reduce waste and to develop the supply system in it, in addition to providing it with equipment and tools required for maintenance to respond to emergency and work to educate citizens in the field of water conservation and commitment to collection and billing, because of its impact on the sustainability of the service.
