Eng. Ghunaim stressed the importance of cooperation and unifying efforts to repair the damages, carry out the operation of vital water and sanitation facilities, avoid duplication of work and achieve transparency and justice.

The two parties discussed starting work on transforming the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility into a water utility with the support of the Water Authority, where a consultative agreement was signed to prepare a roadmap for converting the Coastal Water Utility into a regional water facility by restructuring it at the legal, financial, organizational and administrative levels to operate sustainably and efficiently.

The meeting presented the most important outcomes of the emergency plan, which focuses on equipping 13 emergency stores to store all materials needed for maintenance operations and the purchase of heavy machinery and equipment, in addition to maintaining and equipping old machinery, pumps, and generators, as well as locating water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities and sharing them with all parties to prevent or reduce the chances of being targeted.

Participants also focused on the importance of developing and activating the emergency preparedness plan and the need to ensure sufficient fuel for various water facilities and more spare parts and equipment to enable rapid intervention in emergency cases.

Ghunaim praised the performance of the technical staff of the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility and their continuous work to repair the damages.
