The Palestinian mission concluded today the technical field visit in Dakar to review the experience of the Republic of Senegal in the management of transboundary water resources, which resulted in a number of important recommendations that reflect the future of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The most prominent recommendations were cooperation and transfer of experiences in the field of dams of all kinds due to the uniqueness of the Senegalese experience in this field. In addition to sharing experiences in the environmental and agricultural fields, Senegal seeks to benefit from the Palestinian experience in this field, and also the issue of waste recycling and work to reverse this experience in the State of Senegal.
The two sides agreed to form a formal framework in the field of water cooperation to culminate in the World Water Forum hosted by the State of Senegal in 2021, which is dedicated to discuss water security issues and is a platform that attracts all experts in this field, where Senegal pledged to support Palestine to ensure the highest level of representation of the importance of the Palestinian water issue and its challenges under the Israeli occupation.
It is worth mentioning that all the sessions and field tours were organized and followed up by the UN Committee on the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People in cooperation with the Senegalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and OMVS.
