Ramallah: The Palestinian Water Authority organized today, through a video conference system, in cooperation with Palestine Technical University, Khudouri, the second meeting of the Water Network within the activities of the European Union-funded Water Education Innovation Project "WaSec", in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Environmental Quality Authority, the Energy Authority, and representatives of Palestinian partner universities, Al-Quds University, and of the Jordanian universities: the University of Jordan, the University of Science and Technology, and Princess Sumaya University for Technology, as well as universities from the European Union from Greece, the Netherlands, Spain, and Cyprus.
The meeting aimed to present the results and network with the relevant institutions in Palestine, where the focus was on the results that can be applied to Palestinian universities, the most important of which is the design of 12 academic courses with master's degrees in the field of water and environment, which will be submitted for approval according to the applicable principles in Palestine.
The meeting focused on several topics, the most important of which are: the first Palestinian experience in water and environmental education within the International Master's Program in Innovation in Water Sciences (WaSec) within Erasmus projects, and addressed the objectives of the innovative program in water technologies and the extent to which it contributes to supporting the water and agricultural sector and food security in the face of climate change and the challenges of the sector in general, in addition to discussing the content and outputs of the program and innovation in the methods of teaching courses with the participation of European international experts.
