Ramallah: Head of Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, met at his office today, with the Deputy Ambassador of Egypt to Palestine Mrs. Miranda Jubran, to discuss the prospects for cooperation between the two sides in water issues, particularly arising from the Arab Cabinet meetings as well as developments in the water sector and projects that the Water Authority is implementing and challenges in this field.

The meeting discussed the completion of the necessary procedures to sign the memorandum of understanding to be signed between the Water Authority and the Egyptian Ministry of Irrigation, which was agreed upon between the two sides to develop the capabilities of the State of Palestine to manage water resources through the dispatching of experts in this field and providing technical support in the aspects of collecting groundwater as well as the planning, management, and development of available water resources.

Minister Ghunaim briefed Mrs. Miranda Jubran on the most important developments related to the establishment of the network of Arab Experts, which was agreed upon at the meeting of the Arab Council of Ministers held in Cairo, where the technical and logistical aspects are being discussed to start working on it next year.

Eng. Ghunaim also briefed Mrs. Jubran on the developments in the water situation in Palestine, specifically in the Gaza Strip, and addressed the strategic projects that have been completed in the fields of water and sanitation, as well as the projects that are currently being implemented, which will contribute to improving the water situation in Gaza.

For her part, Mrs. Jubran praised the efforts of the Water Authority to develop this vital facility despite all challenges, stressing Egypt's readiness to strengthen cooperation to include various aspects that contribute to supporting efforts to improve the Palestinian water situation.
