Ramallah: A memorandum of understanding was signed at the Water Authority headquarters today between the Water Authority and the Water Sector Regulatory Council, aimed at developing frameworks and mechanisms for cooperation between the two parties in developing, managing, and controlling water and sanitation services provided to Palestinian citizens at reasonable prices from service providers in all governorates.
The memorandum was signed by the head of Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, and on behalf of the WSRC board, the Board of Directors, Mr. Mohammad Abu Ramadan, and was attended by representatives of the board of directors.
In his welcoming speech, Ghunaim praised the efforts of the two parties in crystallizing this memo, which is a real opportunity for the integration of work and the permanent communication between the two parties to achieve the common goals that aim at raising the efficiency and quality of services offered to the citizens according to priorities that affect the Palestinian citizen's concerns, such as commitment to prices, expressing his aspiration to intensify the work of the Water Sector Regulatory Council in field tours and other functions, and the readiness of the Water Authority to provide the necessary support to the Council.
On his part, Abu Ramadan confirmed the Council's commitment to applying the memo items and the Council's responsibility for achieving the desired results on the ground, explaining that signing the memo is a true partnership aiming at achieving the best achievement of the water sector and its development and following up all issues with the relevant parties.
