Ramallah-the head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, discussed with the World Bank delegation headed by Sana al-Nimr the new program dedicated to the implementation of a number of vital and strategic projects in the water sector.
Ghunaim briefed the World Bank delegation on the progress of work in the current projects under implementation, and the obstacles facing the work in order to achieve the desired goals according to the specified time frame to serve the various parties.
Ghunaim explained that work on various projects is being carried out at an accelerated pace to meet the necessary and emergency needs on the one hand, and the implementation of projects with sustainability to cope with future needs on the other hand.
He pointed out the need to work on current projects and implement them according to the plans prepared, including the Hebron water treatment plant, the accompanying works project, and the sewage sustainability project in Gaza to meet the needs of citizens.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the most important projects that require funding in the coming years within the new project, and the support required to provide water and sanitation services and improve the level of service provided to citizens in the governorates of the country.
Ghunaim stressed that the water sector faces many challenges that require the efforts of the various parties to support the water authority's orientations in the development of the Palestinian water sector and to achieve tangible results on the ground.
