Ramallah: The Head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim stressed the importance of uniting efforts between the Water Authority, donor partners, and workers in the water sector following the plans and programs prepared by the Water Authority, which included the necessary needs to develop the water sector by implementing projects and completing the work of the Water Sector Reform Program.
This came during Eng. Ghunaim meeting with the Director of Dutch Cooperation for Palestine, Ms. Flora Neuman, to discuss joint projects and cooperation mechanisms between the two parties.
The meeting discussed the Water Authority’s plan for emergency interventions in the Gaza Strip, which includes all the current urgent needs that require the cooperation of all parties to ensure the sustainability of the work of all facilities, especially since the implementation of projects requires a great effort from the planning stage to implement and provide financial support to it to ensure the continued operation of these facilities.
The meeting also touched on the Water Authority's procedures, which are part of the Water Sector Reform Program. The program includes working with donors to implement the Water Authority’s procedures, agreeing on joint work mechanisms to ensure the program's success, and implementing plans that have been developed to achieve a major shift in the water sector.
For her part, Ms. Neuman affirmed her readiness to provide the necessary support to save the water situation in the Gaza Strip, develop the water sector in general, and support the efforts of the Water Authority by providing the necessary needs.
