RAM Allah: Head of Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghneim received in his office today Mrs Christina Natoli, Director of the Italian cooperation in Palestine, to review the latest developments in the water sector, specifically the developments to the desalination plant project especially after securing the commitment of many States to provide necessary funding, where Italy was one of the countries supporting the project and support it to save the lives of more than 2 million people threatened by environmental and humanitarian catastrophe.

The head of the water authority said that the Italian Government's support for this project demonstrates the depth of Italian-Palestinian relations, supporting the rights of the Palestinian people in various fields.

Eng.Ghoneim explained to his guest that Water Authority working on implementing  various projects in the Gaza Strip, where the implementation of a medium-sized desalination projects to provide water for citizens and alleviate the disastrous situation it remains temporary solutions, and that the desalination plant is the main solution to rescue the sector and providing safe drinking water, adding that the mechanisms are being developed which will implement business and project-related aspects to ensure the distribution of financial support at all stages of the work.

For her part, Ms Natoli expressed appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Water Authority to develop the water sector, while emphasizing their willingness to provide financial support for the development of the technical aspects associated with desalination project.
