Ramallah – Minister Mazen Ghoneim - Head of the Water Authority met at his office today with Judge –Mousa Shakarne –Head of Land Settlement Authority to discuss bilateral cooperation.

Minister Ghoneim explained the water situation in Palestine and Water Authority's efforts to deal with the water crises in several towns as well as the current  procedures taken by Water Authority, as this sector needs unity. 

MinisterGhoneim confirmed the full cooperation with the Land Settlements Authority by providing the necessary help in the mutual work especially in the springs cases, where Ghoneim explained that referring to the article in the Water Law No 14/2014, the Water Authority has the power to make a system for the usage of historical springs.

On his side, Shakarne explained the government interest in the issue of land settlements as a patriotic mission, and he also confirmed that they will do their best to maintain the citizens’ rights and the need for collaboration between government, local bodies and experts to enrich this field of work.

It is worth mentioning that water and land settlements is one of the Palestinian Authority’s institutions and the core of its work is settlements of land. It was named through Jordanian law.
