Ramallah: Head of PWA, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim stressed the importance of moving forward with the work of the Central Desalination Plant Project to make the project a reality and contribute to improving the water situation in the Gaza Strip.
This came in a meeting between Minister Ghunaim and the Director of Lending Operations in the European Union and Neighboring Countries, Mr. Lionel Rapaille, where Eng. Ghunaim praised the role of the European Investment Bank in pursuing the component of the central desalination plant, praising the cooperation aimed to developing the water and sanitation sector.
The meeting also discussed priority projects of the Water Authority, which implementation requires providing the necessary funding.
For his part, Mr. Rapaille affirmed that water and wastewater projects are among the concerns of the European Investment Bank and will discuss the priorities of the projects to improve the water situation and follow up on the issues related to the implementation of the central desalination plant.
