Gaza: The Head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim met at the headquarters in Gaza City, with the mayors of the northern Gaza municipalities.

The meeting aimed to review the needs and difficulties faced by the municipalities as a provider of water and wastewater services, especially after the recent aggression on the Strip.

The meeting also discussed the need to develop urgent solutions for the flow of wastewater, random basins, and valleys.

Minister Ghunaim was also briefed on the damage caused by the flow of valley water to agricultural lands, which had led to environmental and agricultural losses, and health problems that threatened the lives of citizens, which requires finding solutions to improve the situation in these areas.

In this regard, Eng. Ghunaim indicated that the Water Authority is implementing plans to meet the needs of the region, which included the expansion and extension of lines, the construction of reservoirs, as well as to complete the sewage system and operate treatment plants at full capacity for efficient use, and that the Water Authority is in the process of updating the pilot wastewater plan of the region.
