Head of Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghoneim met in his office with the neighborly administrator Mr. Michael Kohler to discuss the developments in the international donor conference scheduled on 20 March in Brussels to complete the necessary financial support to start implementing desalination plant project in Gaza.

Ghoneim praised the role and partnership of the European Commission to support the water sector in Palestine, and the central station project since the beginnings of talk about the project and yet the project approached to become a reality on the ground to save more than 2 million citizens living in Gaza.

Kohler stressed the importance of this Conference and the support of the European Union in the preparations, in particular stressing the EU's keenness to support important project which is essential to save the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting the parties discussed also developments to a set of EU-funded projects in the Gaza Strip that is consistent with the strategic plan of the water authority in the improvement and development of water service.

This comes in the context of a series of intensive meetings by Ghoneim to mobilize the efforts in order to achieve the best results at the donors’ conference to start Central Station Project this year, and to reduce the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip in 2020 as indicators of international institutions.
