Minister Ghunaim discusses the needs of Yatta and Beit 'Amra

As part of his tour in the south of Hebron Governorate, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim met with the mayor of Yatta and the Chairman of the Beit 'Amra village council to discuss the needs of these areas for water and wastewater projects.

Eng. Ghunaim confirmed that work is underway to improve the water situation in Yatta and reduce the suffering witnessed in this region by completing the water project, which was stopped after the suspension of American projects and delayed implementation for funding reasons.

Minister Ghunaim listened to the needs of Beit 'Amra, which suffers from the lack of a water network in the village and the need for a wastewater project.

Eng. Ghunaim said that the Water Authority allocated an amount of 3 million shekels from the development budget to establish an internal water network that contributes to reducing the current situation and delivering water to citizens, and work is underway to prepare designs and tender documents to be submitted for implementation in the first quarter of next year. He also instructed the implementation of some rainwater ferries before the onset of winter, so that citizens can reach their lands safely.

Concerning wastewater projects, Eng. Ghunaim explained that the Water Authority is working on a pilot plan for Hebron Governorate to implement wastewater projects according to the studied needs.
