The Head of the Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, welcomed today, at his office, the Morocco's ambassador to Palestine, Mr. Abdel Rahim Meziane. The meeting discussed the possible ways to enhance cooperation and implement development projects in the water sector.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Ghunaim indicated the challenges imposed by the Israeli occupation and the continual daily violations, and its negative impact on the Palestinian water sector.
Minister Ghunaim also discussed with Mr. Meziane several joint issues and programs that have been discussed and included with the concerned authorities in Morocco over the past years. These issues open up new prospects for cooperation and benefit from Morocco's expertise, especially in the areas of dam construction and water harvesting.
For his part, the Moroccan ambassador stressed the depth of Moroccan-Palestinian relations, and affirmed his country's willingness to enhance cooperation with the Palestinian Water Authority, emphasizing that the two countries have many common areas they can benefit from to improve the water sector despite all the challenges.
