The Kuwaiti Fund Manager praises the water authority's efforts to save the water situation in Gaza and confirms the Fund's support for the central desalination plant program

Head of Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghoneim met with Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Bader, Director General of the Kuwaiti Fund for development, in Kuwait Fund headquarters in the State of Kuwait. From The Palestinian side, the meeting was attended by Palestinian Ambassador to Kuwait Mr. Rami Tahboub, and from the Fund's, Director General of operations Mr. Marwan Ghanem.

At the beginning of the meeting Ghoneim reviewed the catastrophic water situation in Gaza, and the projects undertaken by the water authority to rescue the situation, starting with the interim projects that will contribute to partial solutions including three desalination plants, sewage project in northern Gaza, and other Earth-based projects aimed at stopping the attrition of the underground reservoir by finding alternative sources for agriculture and other uses.

During the presentation of the Central desalination plant program details , which is the radical solution of the water crisis in the Gaza Strip , the results of the donor conference in Brussels and the working mechanisms for the next phase to begin implementation of the project was discussed .

Al-Bader expressed the Fund's readiness to discuss the future requirements for the Central desalination plant programme, he also stressed that the Kuwait Fund would continue to support this project and future projects aimed at assisting the Palestinian people and facilitate the life by providing the main requirements.

At the end of the meeting Ghoneim thanked the state of Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Fund for this generous support, as this support will play a major role in improving the living conditions of our people in Gaza and providing them with the basis of their lives.
