Minister Ghuneim discusses with Dutch envoy common issues in the water sector

Ramallah: Head of Water Authority, Eng. Mazen Ghuneim stressed the importance of working in regulating the water sector following the plans, regulations, and programs prepared by the Water Authority, which included priorities in terms of development projects and water sector reform programs to ensure a real development in this facility. And to move forward, joint and orderly work between PWA and partners, donors and workers in the water sector, is needed to harmonize the work. This came during the meeting of Eng. Ghuneim with Dutch envoy, Kees Van Baar, to discuss joint projects and mechanisms of cooperation between the two parties.

The meeting also discussed several issues related to the water sector reform program and the importance of unifying efforts to move forward with this program according to the plan prepared for it and approved by developing tools that will contribute to the successful implementation of the road map for the establishment of regional water facilities.

The meeting also dealt with projects and programs supported by the Dutch government, including the partnership program (Blue Deal), which aims to reach clean, adequate and safe water, as well as strengthen governance and accountability, and provide technical support and exchange of information and knowledge to support the Water Authority, this program comes in line with the vision of Water Authority for the rehabilitation, improvement, and upgrading of water sector services.

They also touched upon the integrated water project in Bethlehem, which is nearing completion, and the steps and measures that will be taken to ensure the work of the project efficiently through the training and rehabilitation of technical staff working in the project.
