Minister Ghunaim arrives in Gaza and receives the Irish Deputy Prime Minister to follow up water and sanitation projects

Ramallah: Head of Water Authority Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, arrived in the Gaza Strip today, where he will receive the Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland, Simon Coveney, who will visit Gaza tomorrow to follow up on the implementation of water and sanitation projects implemented by the Water Authority.

Minister Ghunaim and Mr. Coveney, will visit the Central treatment plant project, which is one of the most important projects that contributed to the treatment of wastewater in the Gaza Strip and get rid of its flow to the seawater and leakage to the groundwater reservoir, which contributed practical to solve the environmental and health problems suffered by citizens. In addition to inspecting the sites where the solar power plant will be installed in northern Gaza, where the Government of Ireland will support the project with a financial value of 8 million euros.

Eng. Ghunaim explained that this project is strategic as it improves the lives of more than 350,000 citizens by providing renewable energy, contributing to solving the energy problem, developing reuse and processing program and protecting the environment.

The Minister's tour of the Gaza strip includes laying the foundation stone for the expansion of the Southern Desalination Plant, visiting the desalination plant in Gaza City, as well as the wastewater treatment plant and the new rainwater harvesting station…
