The Palestinian Water Authority with the assistance of Customs Control, discovered a large illegal water connection over the main line, with the remote monitoring system "SCADA” - the line provides Hebron and it's southern area -  this action affected the amount of water provided to Hebron areas. Police arrested people implicated in this case and they are being interrogated.

Water Authority and Custom Control announced that they will not allow such a transgression which led to looting of huge amounts of water. Water Authority appointed a team to work alongside with Customs Control to follow up on such cases.

The statement explained  that Customs Control in collaboration with PWA identified the location of two persons stealing water through illegal connections on the main line.They were arrested and handed over to Public Prosecution.This collaboration comes as a result of a meeting between Minister Mazen Ghoneim-Head of Water Authority  and  Iyad Barakat- Commander of Customs Control, in which they agreed to fight violation over water lines, beginning in Bethlehem where several illegal water connections were closed and persons were  arrested and handed-over  to Public Prosecution. This collaboration will continue until the violation over water lines ends and people involved are punished.
