Wastewater treatment plant project-Hebron Signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Water Authority and the municipalities of Hebron and Yatta

Ramallah-The Water Authority's efforts through work with the municipalities of Hebron and Yatta have been successful, today, at the headquarters of the Water Authority, The memorandum of understanding for the treatment plant project was signed between the three parties in a manner that ensures the public interest.

So the three parties stressed the need to make every feasible effort to take into account the anxieties of the residents of Yatta related to the Al-Saman Valley, where Minister Ghoneim stressed that: we will not accept the harm on our people anywhere in the country. noting that the water authority is fully aware of these fears raised by Yatta municipality and has taken into consideration especially the environmental and social concerns, where fears have been included in the  tender process design and establishing and operating the treatment plant, stressing that the water authority will spare no effort to work on these environmental problems in the Hebron governorate , specifically the problems related to the flow of the stream in Al-Saman valley adjacent to Yatta .

The Hebron Mayor confirmed that the municipality will make every effort to mitigate damages to Yatta, The Mayor of Yatta appreciated the water authority's role in solving water problems in the town and taken into account the anxieties of residents and stressed the importance of success and the implementation of this important national project.

The signing this memorandum is a great achievement to enhance confidence among all parties to start this important national project funded by the World Bank, the French Development Agency and the European Union, which will provide safe and healthy environmental conditions and will provide a source of water would revitalize the agricultural sector in Hebron...4
