As academic institutions and scientific research centers are the main pillars for the completion of the necessary scientific research needed for the development of various sectors to accelerate development, the Palestinian Water Authority sought to create a collaboration and partnership environment with Palestinian universities and scientific research centers in order to create a pioneering and creative scientific research and to find viable solutions for water and sanitation issues.

To achieve this goal, the Palestinian Water Authority and in accordance with Article VIII of the Water Act No.14  of 2014, encourages, coordinates and supervises research and scientific studies about water and sanitation affairs, and it also directs this research to suit the strategies and policies of the Palestinian water sector and follows up with competent institutions in Palestinian universities
